0110 Evidence Informed Palpation and Muscle Testing

STAY AT THE LEADING EDGE WITH PROHEALTH CE SEMINARS

INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Nikita Vizniak
Dr. Nikita Vizniak, BSc DC RMT

Level up your muscle testing and palpation skills for better patient outcomes.

Did you only learn anatomy from a textbook? Want to see anatomical variation, what’s new, and apply more efficient treatments?

See beyond Netter with real anatomical variation and evidence based practical application. Learn to palpate, assess, test, stretch and strength. Find the true causes of tissue specific pathology and start getting real results with your patients. Go beyond the textbooks, see video and apply Anatomy, manual muscle testing and palpation as fundamental to accurate assessment and optimizing treatment—review your anatomy and learn things the textbooks don’t teach you.

There is an art and science to this process. In this hands-on seminar we will demonstrate proven palpation and muscle testing techniques for each region of the body from the best-selling Evidence Informed Muscle Manual and the proCentral Video Library. You will have fun gaining confidence and becoming re-energized in practice with refinement of your skill set—add more tools to your tool box!

Learn how to recognize compensation movement patterns, reciprocal inhibition, dysfunctional kinetic evaluation, and results based treatment options. Learn how to work smarter not harder.

0110 Evidence Informed Palpation & Muscle Testing
LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Identify and palpate structures of the region (give a list of structures below their palpating hands including muscle ligament bone vein artery lymphatics viscera)
  • Understand how anatomical variation and cadaver anatomy shows more realistic body shapes contours and function
  • Perform detailed evidence informed muscle testing (using high EMG activation) and palpation
  • Discuss anatomical variation, ADLs and common injuries of the body region
  • Know where to look for high quality easy access resources to facilitate anatomical and clinical decision making
CLASS LAYOUT
  • ~1hr lecture and open discussion – What the research currently suggests…
  • ~2.5hrs hands on mini-group assessment/treatment skills using evidence based clinical integration of best practices for pathology recognition
  • 1hr lunch
  • ~0.5hrs review of morning material and questions
  • ~2.5hrs hands on hands on mini-group assessment/treatment skills using evidence based clinical integration of best practices for pathology recognition
