An important step in preparing a physical exam is ensuring that the patient is draped appropriately. This course discusses some of the basic aspects of massage draping. With this course, participants can become confident in their draping practice to relax the patient and focus on their comfort and care. Some of the main components of draping are informed consent, never exposing your client and always communicating to your client and explaining what you’re going to do before you do it.
Each lesson is specific to a draping area of the body (female and male). Lessons provide detailed information about proper positioning, noticing edges and corners as an important aspect of draping, gaining informed consent along the way, placement of pillows, and alternative positioning.
By keeping key concepts of draping in mind, participants will be better able to focus their attention on the physical exam with a relaxed patient, and hopefully get better results and improve their practice.
